Gomoti Plains Camp

Tucked into the heart of Botswana’s Okavango Delta, Gomoti Plains Camp invites you to step into a world where the line between comfort and wilderness quietly blurs. Here, raised canvas-luxury tents stand on the edge of flood-plains and rivers, wild game wanders past your veranda, and each day opens with the golden light of the bush and ends around a fire-lit deck. It is an invitation to slow down, breathe deeply, and allow the landscape and life of the Delta to unfold around you.

From the moment you arrive by light aircraft and descend into the sweeping wetlands and palms of the Gomoti concession, you sense that you are somewhere special. The camp’s raised platforms offer unimpeded views across the flood-plain: zebra grazing gently, elephants by the river’s edge, and in the distance lion tracks in the grass. The luxury tents provide generous space, with seamless transitions between indoor and outdoor living—day-beds on wide wooden decks, comfortable seating, wooden floors, and en-suite bathrooms with indoor and outdoor showers.

Daily game drives, mokoro (traditional canoe) trips and motor-boat excursions (season permitting) allow you to explore different habitats: open grasslands, river channels, flood-plain forest and islands. Because the concession lies outside the national park, off-road drives, night-drives and walking safaris with armed guides are possible—adding texture and depth to your safari experience.

Evenings bring the camp’s special atmosphere: pre-dinner drinks around the fire, subtle lighting across the deck, and the sense of being enveloped by the bush. The service is frequently cited by guests as warm, attentive and intuitive. One reviewer noted “elephants held us hostage in our tent a couple of times” as they browsed just outside the deck.

Dining

Meals are served in the main dining area or outside on the deck when weather allows. The camp has earned consistent praise for its food quality, offering fresh, well-prepared cuisine—even in a remote bush setting.

Dining might start with a light breakfast before safari, brunch, afternoon tea (snacks) and then dinner after the drive—with the sundowner experience around the fire in between.
